Baku: The badminton men’s doubles event was previously considered one of Denmark’s safest medal at the European Games in Azerbaijan, and tournament favorites Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen of Denmark again further solidified their chances of nabbing a gold for their country after they were able to live up to expectations and have successfully rolled past Gaetan Mittelheisser and Bastian Kersaudy of France on Thursday, winning 21-16, 21-17 to reach the Baku 2015 men’s doubles semifinals.Wish Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen good luck going into 2015 Baku semi-finals.

Chloe Magee, Scott Evans win second group-stage matches at 2015 Baku

Baku: Chloe Magee managed to recompose herself on Tuesday after she was beaten by Estonias Kati Tolmoff 21-18 21-17 in her opening match in Group F yesterday. She eased through her second group game at the European Games in Baku on Tuesday, defeating Kristine Sefere in the badminton singles Group F encounter. The Irish Olympian was rarely troubled  by her Latvian opponent and secured the 2-0 victory in just over 22 minutes with a scoreline of 21-9, 21-7.Chloe Magee has represented Ireland in both the Beijing and London Olympic Games.

Sun Yu, Chou Tien Chen win Bitburger Badminton Open

Germany: Chinese players dominated the Bitburger Badminton Open finals by winning 4 out of five titles on Sunday.

China’s 20-year-old Sun Yu clashed with He Bing Jiao in the all Chinese women’s singles final. He Bing Jiao – the 17-year old 2014 youth Olympic gold medalist got off to a good start and took advantage of a shaky Sun Yu to win the first set 21-16. Scott Evans cruise to Bitburger Open semis

Germany: Ireland’s Scott Evans has made it to the semi-finals of the 2014 Bitburger Open after beating Adrian Dziolko of Poland.
