World No. 3 and reigning world champions Chen Tang Jie/Toh Ee Wei showed remarkable composure to reach the quarter-finals, surviving a dramatic three-game battle against Taiwan’s Ye Hong Wei/Nicole Chan.

The Malaysians prevailed 22–20, 17–21, 22–20 in 63 minutes, fighting back from a 15–18 deficit in the decider to complete a sweet revenge victory — avenging their earlier loss to the same opponents at the Singapore Open in May.

“We were exhausted, but mentally we pushed through,” said Chen Tang Jie in a post-match interview with the Badminton World Federation (BWF). “Our form isn’t perfect yet, but we’re learning from the top players and staying focused on consistency.”

Toh Ee Wei added, “Coming back from 15–18 was the turning point. Once we caught up, we knew we could win. The world champion title is behind us now — our focus is on improving with every match.”
