Malaysia plays down Commonwealth Games expectations

National Sports Council (NSC) of Malaysia only expects Malaysia to win two gold medals in badminton events at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

However, Rashid Sidek, the national singles coach holds a different opinion that he thinks Malaysia shuttlers could win more.Tee Jing Yi's success in winning all her three matches in Uber Cup last month, especially in straight sets, augers well for the country and the player herself.

“I think we can win more than two gold medals, we are hoping to win at least four golds like we did over each of the past two Commonwealth games.”
