Although we aren’t lawyers, when Badminton England decided to drop England’s No. 1 men’s pair and current World No. 11 Chirs Langridge (age 36)/ Marcus Ellis (age 31) from its Olympic Squad in favor of the World No. 18 Ben Lane (age 23)/ Sean Vendy (age 25), it seemed obvious that Badminton England has violated the UK’s Equality Act of 2010, being a clear example of direct discrimination by treating someone less favorably because of their age. 200,000 young people in England play badminton once a week
London: Badminton England has reaffirmed its commitment to providing more opportunities for people to play badminton than ever before following the release of Sport England’s Active People Survey results today.
The Active People Survey 8 results for the period of October 2013 to October 2014 reveal that the number of 14-25 year olds who play badminton regularly has increased by 19% and now exceeds 200,000 for the first time.

Badminton England awarded Equality Standard for Sport
England: Badminton England is delighted to announce that we have achieved the Intermediate level of the Equality Standard for Sport.
The Equality Standard for Sport was launched by the UK Sports Councils in 2004 to help address the inequalities that exist within the sport sector. The Standard provides a framework for sports organisations to guide them towards achieving equality in all areas, from playing and officiating to coaching and volunteering. Badminton England along with many other organisations achieved the first 2 levels of the Standard in 2006 and 2008.

Britain’s first national badminton league starts in October
Britain will have its own national badminton league this October that will set of rules and own set of format. A new format is intended to make matches shorter but the details have yet to be finalized.
"Under the new rules, games will get to critical points quicker; it is going to be very exciting for the fans and the players. It's going to be non-stop action, and no-interruption to games," said Badminton England chief executive Adrian Christy.

Yonex signs deal to sponsor badminton English National Championships (pic)
Badminton England has announced sports equipment firm Yonex has signed a multi-year deal to become the official sports equipment partner of the English National Championship series.
This year's Championships are due to take place at stadium:mk in Milton Keynes on February 8 and 9.
Badminton England is based in Milton Keynes and this will be the first time the Championships will be staged in the city after taking place at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester for the past nine years.
Japanese firm Yonex has a long association with the sport of badminton and the company has been a long-term partner of Badminton England.
