Hyderabad: Mumbai Rockets won their last three matches to score a come from behind victory against hosts Hyderabad Hunters 4-1 in the Premier Badminton League (PBL) at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium on Monday.
The Hunters who were playing without former World No. 1 Lee Chong Wei, got off to a good start with a closely fought women’s singles contest where Supanida Katethong of Hyderabad defeated Liu Zi Die 13-15, 15-14, 15-14 to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.

Financial aid to be given to 4 shuttlers at Gopichand academy
New Delhi: As part of its Target Olympic Podium (TOP) Scheme, the Sports Ministry of India has decided to provide financial assistance to the Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy in Hyderabad, where four shuttlers are currently training under the programme.
The four players are Parupalli Kashyap, Kidambi Srikanth, HS Prannoy and RMV Gurusaidutt.

Mumbai: Top seed H.S Prannoy and fourth seed R.M.V Gurusaidutt entered the men’s singles final of the Tata Open India International Challenge badminton tournament with straight-game semi-final victories here on Saturday.
Prannoy subdued sixth seed Ajay Jayaram 21-13 23-21 in 36 minutes after staving off the fightback from the latter, who had packed off third seed B Sai Praneesh in the quarter finals, at the Cricket Club of India.

Zulfadli and Iskandar power into India Open quarters (pic)
KUALA LUMPUR: Lucknow is fast turning into a happy hunting ground for Malaysian singles shuttlers Zulfadli Zulkiffli and Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin.
There’s no luck involved though, just pure skill and determination, as the duo turned the formbook upside down to power into the quarter-finals of the India Open Grand Prix Gold tournament in Lucknow on Thursday.
World No. 62 Zulfadli scored his biggest career win when he dumped top seed and India’s top player and world No. 18, P. Kashyap 21-16, 21-12.
Iskandar, currently ranked 67th in the world, was also on cloud nine yesterday after knocking out India’s world 33rd ranked Anand Pawar 22-20, 21-11.
