Beijing: Besides Zhao Yunlei, Tian Qing, Yu Yang, and Wang Yihan who had gone public with their retirement decisions after the Rio Olympics, in a move that has sent shock waves across badminton community, the Badminton World Federation (BWF) confirmed on Tuesday that Chinese Badminton Association has submitted the retirement applications for 26-year-old Wang Shixian, 22-year-old Tang Yuanting, and 26-year-old Wang Zhengming.Goodbye and good luck to Wang Shixian. Tian Qing retires from badminton

Kuala Lumpur: Just one day after Zhang Nan and Fu Haifeng of China defeated Goh V Shem/Tan Wee Kiong of Malaysia to win the Olympic men’s double title, Zhang Nan’s girl friend of six years – Zhao Yunlei, posted a message on her personal social media page admitted the couple has ended their relationship prior to the Rio Olympics.Zhao Yunlei and Zhang Nan split.

Carolina Marin withdraws from Australian Open

Madrid: World No. 1 women’s shuttler Carolina Marin of Spain has withdrawn from the Australian Open as she had suffered some “discomfort” in Indonesia.
