Jakarta: Unseeded Zulfadli Zulkiffli sailed through his opening match at the Jakarta World Championships on Monday, with a stunning 21-5, 22-20 win over sixth seed Chou Tien Chen of Chinese Taipei in the men’s singles first round.
A former world junior champion, Zulfadli Zulkiffli, based his strategy on quickness, and heavy dose of smashes that ended up befuddling Chou and bedazzling spectators in the Istora Senayan Sports Complex, Jakarta.

Kuala Lumpur: Chen Long has widened his lead at No. 1 in the latest Badminton World Federation (BWF) men’s singles rankings with his recent triumph at Chinese Taipei Open, now holding an additional 23,534 points advantage over the No. 2 Jan O Jorgensen of Denmark. As of July 30, 2015, Chen has been ranked world No. 1 men’s singles player for 32 consecutive weeks.
