Almere: Malaysia’s unseeded shuttler Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin advanced to the third round after picked up two victories on opening day of the Dutch Open.
The World No. 68 Malaysian pulled an upset today when he brushed aside No. 14 seed Anand Pawar of India 21-10, 21-15 in his first match.
Iskandar then dispatched Rhys Walker of England 21-14, 21-11 to set up a third round clash with Ville Lang of Finland.

Chong Wei Feng seeks Olympic dream
Kuala Lumpur: World No. 33 men’s singles player from Malaysia Chong Wei Feng has found it increasingly difficult for him to qualify for the Rio Olympics when he has been playing below-par this season with the exception of the SEA Games men’s singles title that he won in June.
Nevertheless, the 28-year-old Malaysian who was sidelined by Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) in preference of Lee Chong Wei for the 2015 Jakarta World Championships, refused to give up on his dream of competing in the Rio Olympics.

Sydney: Malaysia’s independent men’s doubles pair shuttlers Jagdish Singh and Roni Tan Wee Long who represented AirAsia Badminton Academy, were pushed to limit Saturday before came from a set down to defeat Liu Wei Chen and Yang Po Han of Chinese Taipei 13-21, 21-17 and 21-11 in 51 minutes, claiming the 2015 Sydney International Challenge at the Netball Centre in New South Wales, Australia. The Sydney International title was also Jagdish Singh and Roni Tan Wee Long’s second career international title.

Korea Open to kick off with Lee Chong Wei playing at qualifying round
Seoul: The Victor Korea Open Badminton Championships will see quite a few stars when the total USD $600,000 prize money event kicks off the qualifying and mixed doubles first round in Seoul on Tuesday. Qualifiers who reach third round of qualifying will automatically be included in the main draw. Most of the Korea Open main-draw matches will start on September 16, finish on September 20.
