South Korean veteran Lee Hyun-Il of Muar City BC faced a tough opposition from Zulfadli Zulkiffli at the first men’s singles match. The experienced South Korean eventually overcame a hefty challenge from the 2014 Malaysian Champion to prevail at 11-5, 8-11, 11-7, 11-6.

After winning the Sabah Open two weeks ago, Mak Hee Chun and Tan Bin Shen have every reason to smile again on Tuesday as they defeated BAM’s back-up shuttlers Tan Wee Gieen and Teo Ee Yi 21-18, 21-15 in 35 minutes to win their first ever national men’s doubles title.
Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia’s back-up men’s singles shuttlers Lim Chi Wing who won the Vietnam International Series title in October, has done just enough to qualify for the National Grand Prix Finals in Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia.
Despite losing to R. Satheishtharan 21-13, 12-21, 14-21 on Sunday morning, Lim Chi Wing defeated second seed Lim Fang Yang 21-17, 21-10 later in the afternoon. Together with his victory against Goh Giap Chin on Saturday, he has earned sufficient points to come out on top in Group B.
