Paris: Four days after his 33rd birthday, Lee Chong Wei is back on top of the world again, with 40th career men’s singles Superseries titles to his name and a third French Open in the bag.
In one of the finest French Open finals of recent years, Lee Chong Wei showed his hunger for victory was still very much in evidence on Sunday, when he came out firing and won the opening set against Taiwanese Chou Tien Chen in the men’s singles finals with 21-13 in 19 minutes.

Paris: Former world No. 1 Lee Chong Wei reached his first French Open final in four years as he needed 36 minutes to fly by world No. 9 Wang Zhengming of China 21-7, 21-13 in the semi-finals.
The unseeded Lee, in remarkably sublime form at the age of 33, continued his formidable French Open run and never let up the pressure on No. 3 shuttler from the Chinese team in a semi-final demolition. The victory brought Lee’s head to head record against Wang to 15-0.

Lee Chong Wei, winner at the 2011 French Open, needed just 36 minutes to beat world No. 22 Japanese Sho Sasaki in the quarter-finals.

Paris: Former world No. 1 Lee Chong Wei survived a major scare in the second round of the French Open on Thursday, beating No. 7 seed Viktor Axelsen in 65 minutes.
Lee got off to a slow start in the first set, trailing for most of the game to go down 12-21.

Paris: It used to be that Lin Dan’s crashing out of a tournament in a first round would prompt the biggest headlines in badminton. But in a year in which Lin Dan has fallen short of the high standard he has set for himself, each subsequent loss seems less newsworthy.
The latest came Wednesday afternoon at the Pierre de Coubertin Stadium in Paris, with third-ranked Lin Dan falling, 21-14, 11-21, 17-21 to Indian shuttler, world No. 16 H. S. Prannoy in 70 minutes. No longer was the dominant presence he once was, Lin also sent packing in the first round at the Australian Open and Indonesia Open in May and in June of this year.
