It’s official: Tan Kim Her becomes India’s Badminton doubles coach
Mumbai: The Badminton Association of India (BAI) has finally managed to rope in the services of top doubles coach Tan Kim Her on Friday. The Malaysian was in the Capital of India to finalise his contract with the Sports Authority of India, and BAI president Akhilesh Das Gupta said that Tan Kim Her will join the Indian team by the end of September.

Badminton Association of India hire Tan Kim Her as doubles coach
Mumbai: With a little more than a year left for the Rio Olympics, the Badminton Association of India’s (BAI) demand to hire a specialist doubles coach has been granted by the India sports ministry.
Malaysian Tan Kim Her has been roped in by the BAI till the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and will be on a salary of between $7,500 and $8,000 per month, according to Indian media.

Incheon: The Indian women’s badminton team lived up to its potential to reach the semi-final at the Asian Games at the Gyeyang Gymnasium here Saturday. The shuttlers first beat Macau 3-0 in the Round of 16 and then came up with a brilliant performance to oust a strong Thailand 3-2 in the quarter-finals. Reaching the last four, where they will take on South Korea Sunday, assured India of at least a bronze, their first in the discipline since 1986. However, it was the end of the road for the men’s team who lost their opening round match to hosts South Korea.

Jwala Gutta withdraws from Asiad, Ashwini seeks new partner
