Gatchina: Former world No. 1 men’s pair Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong was off to good start at the ´White Nights 2015´ International Challenge on Thursday as they’re looking to rejuvenate their careers. The Malaysian duo moved into the second round with a straight-sets 21-9, 21-6 win over Andrei Goncharenko/Alexandr Kozyrev of Russia. They will take on another Russian pair Vladimir Rusin/Liya Zdanov on Friday.Koo Kien Keat (right) and Tan Boon Heong continue to impress on their comeback.

Chong Wei Feng to duel with Arif in SEA Games final (video)

Singapore: Top seed Tanongsak Saemboonsuk of Thailand was taken to the distance by Chong Wei Feng of Malaysia, who fought back from a set down to create a thrilling climax to the men’s singles semi-finals. SEA Games: Chong Wei Feng in quarters, Goh V Shem/Tan Wee Kiong exit

Singapore: Malaysia’s singles shuttlers Chong Wei Feng, Mohamad Arif Abdul Latif advanced to the quarter-finals in the men’s singles category on Saturday after their wins.

Chong Wei Feng crushed Pham Cao Cuong of Vietnam 21-14, 21-11 to set up a clash with Jonatan Christie of Indonesia on Sunday. Arif also eliminated Fongmalayseng P. of Laos to advance to quarter-finals of the men’s singles event.Chong Wei Feng had an easy first round match against Pham Cao Cuong.

Sydney: All Malaysian players were able to advance to the main draw of Australia Open on Tuesday.

Indonesia Open: Malaysia enjoys mixed results on opening day

Jakarta: Malaysia wrapped up day one of Indonesia Open with six victories and four losses.

World number one Lee Chong Wei took 31 minutes to beat Indonesian player, Sony Dwi Kuncoro in straight sets 21-7 and 21-11. During the first set, Chong Wei adopted a more attacking approach and Sony was not able to keep pace with his adversary. Sony started the second set with a lot of offensive shots, but Chong Wei was able to stay calm and prevailed in the end. Indonesia Open: Mohd Arif stuns Kento Momota

Jakarta: In the first round of Indonesia Open, Mohd Arif Abdul Latif of Malaysia put up a brilliant all-around performance to upset Japan’s Thomas Cup hero, world number 11th Kento Momota 21-19, 21-13 in 34 minutes. His victory makes me wonder had Malaysia decided to bring Arif to New Delhi, and played him in the Thomas Cup final against Momota, Malaysia would have already brought back the Thomas Cup.
