Singapore: Top seed Tanongsak Saemboonsuk of Thailand was taken to the distance by Chong Wei Feng of Malaysia, who fought back from a set down to create a thrilling climax to the men’s singles semi-finals. SEA Games: Chong Wei Feng in quarters, Goh V Shem/Tan Wee Kiong exit

Singapore: Malaysia’s singles shuttlers Chong Wei Feng, Mohamad Arif Abdul Latif advanced to the quarter-finals in the men’s singles category on Saturday after their wins.

Chong Wei Feng crushed Pham Cao Cuong of Vietnam 21-14, 21-11 to set up a clash with Jonatan Christie of Indonesia on Sunday. Arif also eliminated Fongmalayseng P. of Laos to advance to quarter-finals of the men’s singles event.Chong Wei Feng had an easy first round match against Pham Cao Cuong.

Ratchanok Intanon leads Thailand to retain women’s team gold at SEA Games

Singapore: Thailand’s Ratchanok Intanon made a successful cameo appearance at the Southeast Asian Games on Friday, the world number five leading from the front in a crushing 3-0 victory over Malaysia in the women’s team badminton final. With the victory, Thailand successfully retained their title from the 2011 edition. Team events were not contested at the last Games in Myanmar in 2013.Ratchanok Intanon brings back the gold for Thai women at SEA Games.

Lee Chong Wei leads Malaysia into SEA Games semi-final

Singapore: Malaysia’s Lee Chong Wei needed just 13 minutes on court on Wednesday to blast past his opponent at the SEA Games men’s team event. Lee took care of Cambodia’s Cheng Phor Phom 21-10, 21-5 in just 13 minutes to bring Malaysia to a 3-0 team win.Lee Chong Wei always very calm on the badminton court.
