Basel: Despite fighting back from a set down to beat Ireland’s Scott Evans 18-21, 23-21, 21-11 in the men’s singles first round of Swiss Open yesterday, Malaysia’s national champion Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin lost his second round match to Muhammad Bayu Pangisthu of Indonesia at the St. Jakobshalle Badminton Center in Basel when Zainuddin had to retire while trailing 9-17 in the second set due to injury.

Kuala Lumpur: Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin finished the 2015 season on a high note by clinching the Malaysia National Circuit Grand Prix Badminton Finals at Juara Stadium in Bukit Kiara on Sunday.
In dominating fashion, Iskandar took total control to win the one-sided men’s singles final match against his sparring partner in the national team, Chong Yee Han with 21-8, 21-10 in 25 minutes to take home RM14,000, while Chong received RM7,200.
